When I start a N64 game in Retroarch through Launchbox, I press F1, go to options, go to input, and go to player 1. Be sure to change back before using Retroid built in buttons. Go into Mupen direct and change your controller profile to 8bitdoSN30Pro before loading a game. Once your games have been added to your library, you should see them listed under the N64 controller icon in the Retroarch menu. When reentering RetroArch, the Retroid profile is put back in. When switching back to the Retroid controller, close RetroArch first before switching the Retroid back to game pad mode. Using connected Controller, manually register the d pad arrows under settings, input, port 1 controls. To get to the overall Retroarch Input settings menu go Settings > input. I like to have it set up so that the Core-specific controller settings should be able to be left at the default values, and have all the mapping done at the overall Retroarch Input settings level.
